Anxiety and stress are both natural emotional responses to situations that may present a danger but some people experience elevated levels of anxiety that are not appropriate to the situation they find themselves in. For those people anxiety can become a problem and can in fact stop them from doing the things they want to do.
As many people know, when stress overwhelms your nervous system your brain will respond by flooding your body with chemicals that prepare you for “fight or flight.” While the stress response can be lifesaving in emergency situations where you need to act quickly, it wears your body down when constantly activated. Often these responses have come about as the result of a situation that has occurred in the past or the anticipation of a situation that may arise.
Not many people can completely avoid all stress or anxiety, but you can counteract it and learn ways to manage it.
Hypnotherapy is particularly effective for people who become anxious or stressed and there are a number of different approaches to help with these situations.
If anxiety or stress is affecting your life and you want to change that then I can work with you to develop strategies to overcome this and to enable you to take back control and to break free from the old patterns allowing you to move forward in a positive way.
